Thick discolored fungal toenails are very common. In fact, it affects about 15% of adults. Nail fungus can be very difficult to treat. In the past the most common treatment for toenail fungus was taking pills that could cause liver toxicity and require several blood tests while taking the medication. We now offer an alternative to the pills. Laser treatment is a safe and effective alternative to the pills.
Lasers for the treatment of nail fungus are increasing in popularity. Specialized lasers are used that have been developed specifically for this treatment.
The laser light passes through the nail without causing any damage to the nail and is painless. The laser light will destroy the fungus and after a few months, the nail starts to grow out normal. The laser is 60% to 80% effective in the treatment of fungal nails.
